JOB SUMMARY
The Infusion Account Executive is responsible for driving sales and business development for the designated territory. Responsibilities also include sourcing new customers and growing and maintaining relationships with existing accounts. Internal and external collaboration and facilitating stakeholder cooperation will be key to success. Customers may include physicians, mid-level prescribers, nurses, social workers, case managers, physician office support staff, pharmacists, health systems, payers, and patient foundations/organizations. The Infusion Account Executive must be comfortable calling on customers at all levels, including Senior Leadership and C-suite. The role is a field-based position, and the ideal candidate will be entrepreneurial and thrive in a fast-paced and independent environment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Engage in sales interactions with members of the medical community (includes physicians, nurses, NPs, PAs, MAs, Pharmacists, etc.) while providing patient and product information to key accounts.
- Educate and teach patients and caregivers on how to manage infusion therapy.
- Complete administrative items daily, such as preparing pre-call objectives, entering sales calls in Salesforce, and analyzing sales reports. Responsible for expense reporting and preparation of sales reports.
- Attend required team trainings, sales meetings, and represent the company at occasional weekend local, regional, and national trade shows and conventions as assigned.
- Travel between client sites within assigned territory.
- Identify high-volume client prospects in target groups for assigned areas, secure appointments, and qualifying these accounts. Must demonstrate success in clinical selling skills.
- Call on physicians, case managers, discharge planners, and additional designated referral sources within the assigned territory.
- Conduct follow-up on all maintenance accounts to ascertain continued satisfaction with company services and identify areas to increase business.
- Problem-solve issues with referral sources and other hospital or clinic-based programs related to the delivery of services. Must demonstrate quality judgment and decision-making skills.
- Share in the responsibility for administrative management of system-wide quality assurance monitoring programs.
- Develop an annual territory business plan.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Infusion experience.
- 2 years of successful recent specialty pharmacy, pharmaceutical, or medical sales experience.
- Must be familiar with the assigned territory
- A valid driver’s license.
- A reliable personal vehicle.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule as needed.
- Experience in Salesforce.
- Possess a strong work ethic and team player mentality and be an energetic, highly motivated sales professional to represent the business.
- Have the ability to learn, understand, and communicate complex information. Must demonstrate effective organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience calling on:
- Gastroenterologists (for Hepatitis, Crohn’s, IBD, etc.)
- Rheumatologists (for Rheumatoid Arthritis)
- Neurologists (mainly for Multiple Sclerosis)
- Dermatologists (for Psoriasis and Dermatitis specialty treatments)
- Infectious Disease or virologists (HIV)
